We are about to get well into March, starting with nationally-ranked Houston looking to bolster its chances at a return to the Final Four. That falls into a busy Tuesday filled with soccer, baseball and softball.
Sunday: The nationally-ranked Houston men’s basketball team (ranked 14th in this week’s AP poll) closes out its regular season with a visit to a Memphis team that snapped its 37-game home winning streak on February 12. KHOU11 will have the game
Monday: Hitchcock’s golf team gets the day started as they host a meet at Bayou Golf Course in Texas City at 7:30am.
Texas City High School’s football team will hold its annual banquet at Doyle Center beginning at 6:00pm. The Stingarees will honor its varsity team, which advanced to the 5A, Region III, Division II area round this past season.
Clear Brook hosts Bay Area Christian in a clash of area baseball teams starting at 7:00pm.
The Rockets hit the road to face the Heat beginning at 6:30pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 6:00pm with the pregame show.
Tuesday: With the regular season hitting the home stretch, the boys’ and girls’ soccer schedule will be busy. For the boys, La Marque at Hampshire-Fannett starts at 7:00pm, followed by Dickinson at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Springs, Friendswood at Manvel, Goose Creek Memorial at Santa Fe and Galveston Ball at Texas City each starting at 7:30pm.
The girls’ schedule kicks off with La Marque at Hampshire-Fannett at 5:00pm, with Clear Brook at Dickinson, Clear Lake at Clear Creek, Clear Springs at Brazoswood, Manvel at Friendswood,. Santa Fe at Goose Creek Memorial and Texas City at Galveston Ball starting at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, the high school baseball schedule has La Marque at High Island at 4:00pm, with Kingwood at Clear Creek at 5:00pm. St. Thomas at Clear Falls, Clear Springs at Kincaid, Galveston Ball at Friendswood, Santa Fe at Manvel and Texas City at Baytown Lee each starting at 6:00pm.
Softball action starts at 5:00pm with Danbury at Hitchcock and La Marque at Stafford. Clear Falls at Clear Brook, Dickinson at Clear Creek, and Friendswood at La Porte each start at 6:30pm, while Clear Springs at Clear Lake wraps the action up at 6:45pm.
