GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas – Ami Cotharn, MSN, RN, has been named Coastal Health & Wellness (CHW) chief operating officer and will begin her new role March 1.
Cotharn began her career with Galveston County Health District (GCHD) in 2017 as the tuberculosis program manager and two years later was promoted to Community Health Services manager. In June 2021, she was named chief nursing officer for both the health district and CHW.
“For the past year I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with our team at Coastal Health & Wellness. We’ve accomplished some great things in that time, and I appreciate the opportunity to build on and expand the services we offer to the community,” Cotharn said. “I am excited to see what the future holds.”
Cotharn has served on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response during the past two years and worked tirelessly to keep Galveston County residents healthy and safe. With more than 17 years of experience including project and program management, she is committed to fulfilling her new role with energy and compassion.
“We are thrilled to have Ami as our chief operating officer at Coastal Health & Wellness. She has a true passion for the clinic and the work our team does every day,” said CHW Executive Director Dr. Philip Keiser. “Ami is dedicated to keeping our patients and community healthy and safe.”
