State title bids are on the line when the 5A, Region III tennis meet is held at the Blythe Calfee Tennis Center in Willis.
Thursday: With Easter weekend approaching, high school baseball and softball games will be played a day earlier. The baseball schedule has Clear Brook at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Clear Springs, Dickinson at Brazoswood, Baytown Lee at Friendswood, Santa Fe at Galveston Ball, Columbia at La Marque and Texas City at Clear Lake, with each game starting at 6:00pm.
Meanwhile, the high school softball slate has East Bernard at Hitchcock and La Marque at Needville at 5:00pm. Clear Springs at Brazoswood, Friendswood at Baytown Lee, and Galveston Ball at Santa Fe start at 6:30pm, with Clear Brook at Dickinson and Clear Lake at Clear Creek begin at 6:45pm.
Friday: The Astros continue their opening trek across the west coast as they start a weekend set against a Mariners team expected to provide the most competition in the American League West. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage at 8:00pm, leading into the odd first pitch time of 8:42pm.
Saturday: Start time for the middle game of the Astros-Mariners series is a bit earlier, as the two teams square off at 8:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts its coverage at 7:30pm.
