Four area high school teams will be among a number of high schools throughout the state that will compete in the TSU Relays beginning on Thursday. The remainder of Spring Break is filled with daytime softball on Wednesday and a host of daytime baseball on Friday.
Wednesday: The day’s lone baseball game has La Marque at Iowa Colony at 12:00pm.
In softball, La Marque at Iowa Colony starts at 12:00pm, followed by Deer Park at Clear Brook at 12:30. Danbury at Hitchcock begins at 1:00pm.
Thursday: Clear Falls, Clear Springs, Dickinson and Texas City will be among the numerous schools participating in the TSU Relays, one of the most elite track and field events in the state that also serves as a sneak preview of May’s state finals in Austin. The event runs through Friday.
The state’s best girls’ powerlifters meet in Frisco for the state finals, which will run through Saturday.
The Rockets welcome the Wizards to Toyota Center for a 7:00pm tip. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
Friday: Most of the baseball slate begins at 1:00pm with Clear Brook at Clear Falls, Clear Creek at Brazoswood, Clear Springs at Dickinson and Santa Fe at Galveston Ball. Angleton at Friendswood starts at 6:00pm, while Van Vleck at Hitchcock starts at 7:00pm.
Saturday: Opening Day of the Texas City Little League baseball and softball season gets underway with the annual parade, which will also be part of the St. Patrick’s Day parade begins at 10:00am.
The Rockets will get a chance to play spoiler when the playoff-bound Cavaliers arrive at Toyota3 Center for a 4:00pm clash. Space City Home Network starts coverage with the pregame show at 3:30pm.
