SPRING BREAK makes for a quiet docket of high school sports yet the weather
will cooperate and give fans a chance to enjoy a schedule filled mostly with
afternoon games. The end of the week will also see the Rockets continue their
push toward securing the best record in the NBA and homefield advantage
throughout the postseason.
TODAY, WEDNESDAY: A light day of high school sports will have four softball
games starting with Rice Consolidated at Hitchcock at 1:00pm. Manvel at
Galveston Ball and Shadow Creek at Texas City each begin at 1:30pm while
East Bernard at La Marque will start at 5:00pm.
TOMORROW, THURSDAY: The sole high school sports event begins at
2:00pm when Santa Fe visits Galveston Ball in baseball action.
The Rockets are back home as they face the Clippers at Toyota Center beginning
at 7:00pm. Los Angeles won the first two games between the two teams
this season before Houston earned a 105-92 win on February 28. In what will
be the final regular season game between the two this year, AT&T Sportsnet
Southwest will start its coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
FRIDAY: District 24-6A baseball play will see Clear Springs at Clear Creek,
Clear Brook at Clear Falls and Dickinson at Friendswood each starting at
7:00pm.
SATURDAY: Opening Day of the 2018 Texas City Little League baseball season
will start with the annual parade beginning at 9:00am. Following ceremonies
at Goddard Park, the games will get under way. Everyone is invited to
support and watch the future stars of tomorrow.
A pair of District 23-5A baseball games are on the schedule with Galveston
Ball at Galena Park starting at 1:00pm and Texas City at Santa Fe beginning
at 2:00pm.
The Rockets make the short trip to New Orleans for a 7:00pm date against the
Pelicans that will be aired on AT&T Sportsnet Southwest. The season series
is split as Houston won at home on December 11 before New Orleans did the
same on January 26, which was the Rockets’ last defeat before starting a
17-game win streak. The pregame show will begin at 6:30pm.
