It was a weekend of celebrations and success for the students of Texas City Independent
School District, because a few TCISD teams performed at different competitions over
the weekend and came back with successful results.
Firstly, the Indoor Percussion attended the TCGC state contest and came back with
a score of 84.225, earning an overall fourth place in the contest.
Secondly, Brandon Sam—a senior at TCISD—placed second in a journalism news
writing event, allowing him the opportunity to advance to state. This accomplishment
came after he previously advanced to regionals in two journalism events.
Thirdly, the Future Problem Solvers participated in the State Bowl this weekend and
one of its members, Miguel Delgado, earned first place in the Alternate Division.
TCISD students went out to their individual competitions this weekend and showcased
their talents and skills to the best of their ability. They should be very proud of
themselves.
And, along with the aforementioned, the TCISD Robotics team will be participating
in VEX Worlds later this month and recently qualified for Nationals. Furthermore,
the Swinging Stingaree Jazz Band—which received superior ratings at a recent Jazz
Festival—will be performing on April 21st at the 8th Annual Jazz Festival.
The Post congratulates the teams and students of TCISD for all of their accomplishments!
