“ Stop the Bleed “ is designed to
prepare the participant for what to
do in a bleeding emergency. The
campaign launched in October 2015
by the White House. The top cause
of preventable death in trauma is
bleeding. 20% of people who have
died from traumatic injuries could
have survived with quick bleeding
control. All around the world are educational
courses to provide you the
training you need in life or death situations.
There is a “ Stop the Bleed
“ bleeding control basic course On
November 17, 2018 presented by
John Hermann, Galveston County
Emergency Preparedness Administrator
and the CERT Coordinator.
It will be located and the MUD
Building 2929 Hwy 6 Bayou Vista,
TX 77568. The interactive course
is 1.5 hours focusing on the immediate
response to bleeding, appropriate
ways to stop the bleeding and
also free and open to the public. All
