SHOW YOUR LIBRARY SOME LOVE!
During the months of January and February you can earn rewards for using the library. Beginning January 2nd through February 28th, patrons ages 14 and up can pick up a “Love My Library” rewards card at the Circulation Desk or the Reference Desk.
This year, you can earn free printing OR coupons to help with overdue fines! You’ll get a stamp each time you visit the library and check out materials, ask a reference question, use a computer, or get a library card! Once an entire section of your card is stamped, you will receive your reward coupon.
This is a way for the Library to say “Thank You” to all of their loyal patrons ~ and new ones too!
Do you love listening to books? If so, you will be happy to know that Moore Memorial Library has added new additions to their digital library: E-AUDIOBOOKS. Library cardholders will now be able to stream audiobooks through the Libby App via Overdrive!
Now you can listen to books on your phone or tablet while you’re out for a walk or driving to work. Not all audiobooks are made on CDs anymore, so you can now broaden your listening materials using your smart device. If you already use OverDrive, searching for audiobooks will be exactly the same as searching for e-books. And for new users interested in streaming audiobooks, getting an OverDrive account is a breeze with your library card!
The library looks forward to offering opportunities for patrons to explore both local history and genealogy. On Friday, February 22nd at 10 a.m., join the Local History Librarian and learn how to Uncover Your Family Tree. During this program, you can begin searching your family history using our Ancestry and HeritageQuest databases – available FREE with your library card. There will be laptops available for the first 10 attendees to arrive. Bring your questions and anything you might be working on, and let the fun begin.\

It’s coming! It’s coming! Yes, that’s right it’s TAX SEASON. Soon your mailboxes will be full with” IMPORTANT TAX RETURN DOCUMENT ENCLOSED”. You will see TV Commercials and funny people dressed like the Statue of Liberty dancing in the street!
The Library can help. They will have a limited supply of the new Form 1040 available at the Reference Desk. If additional forms or schedules are needed, library staff can help patrons print them from the IRS website. Explore your options early so that you will be ready to file your taxes before April 15!
The library had a great response to their On-Demand Computer classes this past fall. Because of that they will continue offering them. Beginning January 2nd through February 28th, patrons can visit the Reference Desk and request a one-on-one class with a librarian.
They are excited to teach patrons the basic skills needed to help build a foundation for computer literacy. (However, they cannot teach topics that aren’t part of their existing computer classes).
The On-Demand Computer classes operate on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, please visit the Reference Desk or call us at (409) 643-5977.
With a library you are free, not confined by temporary political climates. It is the most democratic of institutions because no one – but no one at all – can tell you what to read and when and how. –Doris Lessing
