Labor Day weekend is well known as the last big celebration before fall arrives and another school year is well underway. Whether you’re planning a trip to Galveston to visit family and friends or you live in the area and are looking for some things to do, check out these Labor Day weekend activities.

Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival

If you’re a lover of craft beer, Texas is home to over 275 craft breweries. The Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary over Labor Day weekend. The event takes place at Moody Gardens in Galveston, and there are plenty of activities beyond tasting some of the best craft brews in the area.

Participate in the Tequila tasting event and end your evening with some to-die-for nachos. This event runs from Friday through Sunday.  Visit Galveston County Calendar of Events for more details.

Omega Psi Phi Labor Day Boat Ride

Each Labor Day weekend the Rho Beta Beta Omega Psi Phi hosts a four-hour cruise on the Galveston Shore. For $60 you can party and listen to live bands and DJs. There’s drink specials and food available during the cruise, so get more in-depth details about this event at eventbrite.com.

There are few longer cruise opportunities that take place over Labor Day weekend. Contact a Galveston travel agent for more information on these week-long cruise trips.

GCVA Labor Day Classic

Whether you love playing volleyball or just like to cheer on your friends, Gulf Coast Volleyball Association is holding a tournament at East Beach on August 31st. Want to participate or see if there are any volunteering opportunities?
