Bolivar: GOOD. 78 degrees. This week will be windy and cloudy with lots of sun this weekend for great fishing. Check the daily forecast or call your favorite bait shop. The tides and water levels are dramatic two tide days that should produce some decent fishing activity with the weather changes expected. Another week of big 25 inch plus trout running in the surf. Chances of using your trout tag are high. Water levels are back and forth per normal with a lot of sargassum washing in. Redfish can be caught everywhere. There are more keeper speckled trout being caught along with sand trout, black drum, sheepshead and crabs caught along the jetty. The flounder are here for the spring but mostly 16-20 inch fish. The bigger stingrays and sharks are here and the real action is starting. We saw plenty of sharks while shrimping in the gulf. The surf is producing numbers of redfish and huge black drum, huge speckled trout and a lot of sharks along the whole peninsula with more activity towards Gilchrist and High Island. Anglers are using cut mullet, big menhaden or shad, and stingray chunks for bait this past week with awesome results. Report by Captain Shane Rilat, North Jetty Bait Camp.

Trinity Bay: FAIR. 76 degrees. 44,200 CFS pumping down from Liberty, and -1,870 CFS coming down Highway 90 in Crosby. With this information it looks like the blue catfish will be great in the north complex of Trinity Bay. Something magical is about to happen in the upper Galveston Bay and San Jacinto River with the trout spawning out. We have been putting the hammer on them using the WACky Shad XL in the chartreuse color or using shrimp under a popping cork. Redfish are mixed in variously with the trout and drum are being caught well on rocks. Flounder are showing up good using plastics with redfish magic spinnerbait. Be safe and always wear your kill switch! Report by Captain Zackary Scott, Zack Attack Fishing.

East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 80 degrees. Speckled trout and whiting are being caught in the surf. Galveston jetties are producing speckled trout, black drum, and slot size redfish on live shrimp. Those throwing heavy tackle catching some big black tip sharks and bull redfish. In the bay, speckled trout catches have been solid. Fish are holding along structures such as oyster reefs, old pier pilings and spoil islands. Also seeing good numbers of black drum. Best bite on live natural baits and soft plastic lures. We are heading into an extreme heat pattern. Winds are forecast to increase, so choose your location wisely and stay hydrated. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing. Sounding like a broken record but fishing remains great by boat or wading around oyster beds. Still catching a lot of speckled trout everywhere, sheepshead and bull redfish with some gafftops under a popping with live shrimp and soft plastics. Report by Captain Jack Blume, North Jetty Bait Camp. Surface water temperature is 76 degrees. Water clarity stirred up more than usual after the fronts we had this past week, but the fish did not seem to mind. We had quite a bit of North wind this week, but still fishing shell structure in 2-4 feet of water, and most of our springtime places produced consistent trout action. If you see bait flipping on the surface the fish are close by, if not, you are best to move on to another spot, after making a few casts. The lighter the jig head the better, 1/16-¼ ounce, determined by the wind and current, and tails without paddles, are still performing the best, as we were utilizing Anahuac based, Wac Assassin’s in Purple Haze. Today the Fish Smack Popping corks with a 1-2 foot leader above an artificial Shrimp was once again our top performer for our fishing friends, getting 70-percent of our bites, with a hard pop and a 5-8 second pause gathering the most strikes. The Topwater bite has also been good when utilized on our early morning and late afternoon trips, so if you like throwing walking baits, now is the perfect time. The trout bite in the Surf has also been on fire the last few days, so if you like wading with artificials, get out and make it happen. Spring is here and fishing will continue to heat up as the water warms up, so grab your family and friends and beat the crowds on East Galveston Bay. Report by Captain Jeff Brandon, Get the Net Guide Service, LLC.

Houston: GOOD. Water stained; 80 degrees; 0.14 feet above pool. The flow rate is 475 CFS measured at West Fork. Humble will make for some great fishing soon when everything settles down from these rain events. Target bass in clear water near shad with 5 inch worms Texas rigged. The average size is 2-4 pounds. The white bass will be on fire by next week when the south end starts to clear up. Catfish are great off the bulkheads on the east shoreline but by the train tracks. Crappie should be picking up at the end of next week when the water clarity improves in Luces Bayou and East Fork. Be safe and always wear your kill switch! Report by Captain Zackary Scott, Zack Attack Fishing.

Texas City: GOOD. 75 degrees. Water temperatures are just right. Anglers are catching speckled trout, redfish, and black drum with some occasional sand trout, gafftop, and croakers.
