AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott participated

in a Fireside Chat at the U.S. Chamber

of Commerce Committee of 100 Meeting

(CCC100) in Austin on Monday. The

Governor and CCC100 Chairman Matt

Shay discussed the importance of workforce

development and the strategies behind

Texas’ continued economic success.

“CEOs and business leaders continue

to invest in Texas because of our high

quality workforce and our commitment

low taxes and reasonable regulations,”

said Governor Abbott. “However, as the

global marketplace shifts to a 21st century

economy, Texas must focus on the future.

That is why the Lone Star State will continue

to diversify its economy and invest

in our workforce to ensure we remain a

global powerhouse.”

The Chamber of Commerce Committee

of 100 is comprised of chamber executives

from across the country that represents

the various perspectives of chambers

and their members. Twice a year,

CCC100 members come together for an

exclusive meeting to address issues facing

local and regional chambers.
