Hard to believe that Spring is just around the corner…considering we just started getting a little cold weather. One sure sign that spring is on the way though is the announcement of the date for the Spring Art Walk. This year the theme is Monarch Butterflies symbolizing the annual return of beauty to the streets of Texas City as well as recognizing that this will be the 20th anniversary of the Texas City Art Festival. Local artists come out to share their talents and this spring students and other budding artists from the area will be encouraged to attend and show their work as well. The spice to this lovely dish comes from all the area crafters; many of whom are artists in their own right, bring everything from yard signs to handmade jewelry, creating useful and beautiful items from wood to metals, repurposing throwaways and turning them into works of art. The Spring Art Walk is really popular and inquiries are already rolling in regarding the availability of spaces on 6th Street.
