SANTA FE HAD SIX MEMBERS OF its football team make the all District 12-5A-2 squad that was recently announced.
Offensive lineman Austin Ferris and kicker Noe Rico were selected to the second team offense, while defensive lineman Reece Dobson, linebacker Trysten Uzzell and defensive backs Kyeler Thompson and Bruce Erekson were each named to the second team defense.
Barbers Hill quarterback Christian Kaopua was named the 12-5A-2 Most Valuable Player while Baytown Lee quarterback Ijenea Wooley was selected as the offensive player of the year. Linebacker Cavin Brannin of Barbers Hill received defensive player of the year honors.
Nederland wide receiver/safety Kyndon Fuselier and Vidor defensive lineman Jordan Smith shared district newcomer of the year honors, while Crosby kicker Trevor Helburg and Baytown Lee return specialist Ja’Kenan Davis were both selected as special teams players of the year.
Barbers Hill’s Tom Westerberg was named coach of the year.
