“Mistakes are painful when they happen, but years later a collection of mistakes is what is called experience.”
— Denis Waitley
I’ve certainly had more than my fair share of mistakes. Many of them have caused much pain in my life. Some of that pain was temporary, and some of it was long lasting. But it was all my teacher. I am a decent student, be it in a regular classroom, or through the years of education I’ve obtained from living my life. Not all of our lessons come easy. Nor can they be easily erased as if written with pencil or chalk. Especially mine, which some, unfortunately, have been penned in permanent marker, and of course, those are the ones that others like to remind us of over and over again. I’m thankful for my experiences. They have all brought me to where I am today, even the painful ones. They have had a purpose in my life as have yours. Remember that when someone is trying to beat you up with your past. Your past is just a stepping stone to your future. If someone has a problem with it, then that pretty much says it all. You have experience and they have a problem.
