The new week starts with 24-6A golf meets for both the boys and girls. It will also include a usual Tuesday evening of basketball and soccer along with a Sunday filled with Rockets and Cowboys fans facing various forms of emotions.
Sunday: The Rockets remain on the west coast as part of a five-game road trip as they take on the Kings beginning at 5:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 4:30pm with the pregame show.
The Cowboys host the 49ers in an NFC Wild Card game between two of the league’s flagship franchises. KHOU11 will have the game live at 3:30pm. The game comes right after Galveston’s Mike Evans and the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers host the Eagles in an NFC Wild Card game that can be seen on KRIV26 at 12:00pm.
Monday: District 24-6A golf is the highlight of the day, as the district’s boys will compete at Bay Oaks, while the girls will be at Galveston Country Club.
Tuesday: The boys’ high school basketball schedule will have state-ranked Hitchcock at Danbury at 5:00pm, followed by Friendswood at Galveston Ball, Bay City at state-ranked La Marque (game to be broadcast on Victory Sports Network), Manvel at Santa Fe, and Baytown Lee at Texas City each starting at 7:00pm.
Meanwhile, the girls’ high school hoops slate has La Marque at Bay City at 5:00pm, followed by Hitchcock at Danbury at 6:30pm. Galveston Ball at Friendswood, Santa Fe at Manvel, and Texas City at Baytown Lee each start at 7:00pm.
A busy high school girls’ soccer schedule has Clear Brook at Shadow Creek, Clear Springs at Pearland, Friendswood at Galveston Ball, Manvel at Santa Fe and Baytown Lee at Texas City each beginning at 7:30pm.
The boys are equally busy with Clear Brook hosting a tri-match with Shadow Creek and Pasadena High at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Clear Falls at Fort Bend Elkins, Katy at Clear Creek, Galveston Ball at Friendswood, Santa Fe at Manvel and Texas City at Baytown Lee are also starting at 7:30pm.
The 24-6A boys’ golf meet moves to Magnolia Creek. As is the case on Monday, Clear Creek plays the role of host.
