Bolivar: GOOD. 66 degrees. Bolivar holding redfish along the grass in the shoreline of the ICW. Jetties are holding trout biting on shrimp under popping cork in 7-9 feet of water. Redfish and black drum are at the jetties biting on cut mullet, crab, and Carolina rigged popping cork and live shrimp just off the bottom. Trinity Bay: GOOD. 69 degrees. The east shoreline of Trinity bay is producing scattered catches of speckled trout. Waders are finding a few fish in waist deep water, on artificial lures. Scott, Burnett, and Tabbs have been slow for speckled trout. Anglers are still catching black drum and the occasional redfish on live shrimp. East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 68 degrees. Wade fishing is producing a few speckled trout and reds along protected shorelines, using artificial lures. Anglers able to drift the open bay reefs are catching better numbers of speckled trout, on live shrimp and soft plastics. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

Galveston Bay: GOOD. 71 degrees. Eagle Point shorelines have seen a flurry of speckled trout catches, dependent upon the winds. Black drum and sheepshead being caught around structures. West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 69 degrees. Catches of black drum, and sheepshead have dominated the action. A few trout are being caught. Best bite on live shrimp. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

Texas City: GOOD. 67 degrees. Sheepshead bite is steady, on the outside of the Galveston North Jetty, using live shrimp. Black drum catches are still fair, for those anglers using live halved crab fished along the North Jetty. Keeper and slot redfish catches are improving on the North Jetty. Trout are hitting soft plastics around the reefs in 5-7 feet of water. Flounder and redfish are up in the marsh in Dickinson Bay. April Fool Reef holding trout biting on artificials. Drum are biting near the Kemah bridge using shrimp on the bottom. Clear Lake holding some speckled trout and redfish around the rocks. Freeport: FAIR. 66 degrees. Sheepshead with a few redfish mixed in are good at the jetties free lining live shrimp. The harbor is holding good numbers of trout, redfish, and sheepshead caught by free lining live shrimp. East Matagorda Bay: FAIR. 66 degrees. Fishing is improving as spring approaches. Wade and drift fishing for redfish is good. Drum are good. Trout are slow due to fluctuating weather, but when there are several days between fronts the bite is good on live shrimp, gulp under a cork, topwaters, and artificials. Port O’Connor: GOOD. 66 degrees. Trout are good on live shrimp and artificials, with quite a few catches of oversized trout. Sheepshead are good on live and dead shrimp.
