
Sabine Lake: GOOD. 80 degrees. Redfish and trout are good in the ICW off flats, points and drops using live shrimp under a popping cork. Speckled trout are good using a 1/16 ounce jig head in morning glory chartreuse or mullet colored 10-25 feet of water off ledges on incoming tides. Marshes are holding trout and redfish. Speckled trout are improving in the Sabine Channel in 4-10 feet over shell in the incoming tides. Sabine jetties are fishing good with glo chartreuse �¼ ounce shrimp. Fishing in the lake is fair with a few catches drifting. South Levy speckled trout are good using gold spoons, top waters, and live shrimp under a popping cork. North Levy has the best bite in the lake, with limits on the first and second pipe and along the walls using deep diving baits and plastics. Bessie Heights is muddy holding some redfish free lining live shrimp and live mullet. Bolivar:GOOD. 80 degrees. The jetties are holding oversize redfish, nice trout and the occasional sheepshead on popping cork and shrimp. Trinity Bay: GOOD. 81 degrees. East shoreline of Trinity has the best clarity. Scattered catches of speckled trout coming from Smith Point to Hodges Reef. West shoreline from the spillway to Dow’s Reef is a good option when the winds allow. Best bait is live shrimp, but anglers are catching them equally well on soft plastic lures. East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 80 degrees. Wading the shoreline is producing the best catches of speckled trout and the occasional redfish. Open bay is off-colored, and the winds need to settle to be able to fish the open bay reefs. Live shrimp and artificial lures are equally productive. Galveston Bay: GOOD. 81 degrees. Shoreline pier pilings around Eagle Point are holding a few speckled trout. Water has been off colored. The middle bay rock structures are beginning to pay off with catches of speckled trout, redfish, along with a few sheepshead and black drum. Live shrimp has been the best bait. West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 81 degrees. Trout and redfish are being caught around Campbell’s Bayou on live shrimp and croakers. Open bay reefs producing redfish and speckled trout using live shrimp. Texas City:GOOD. 80 degrees. Plenty of bull redfish in the jetties biting fresh dead shad. Speckled trout, slot redfish, keeper black drum, and sheepshead being caught on live shrimp fished tight to the rocks. Black tip shark encounters are increasing, best bait fresh dead shad. East Matagorda Bay: FAIR. 80 degrees. Winds continue to blow, but some fish can be had. Few trout and redfish biting on artificials. Redfish and drum are biting live shrimp under a popping cork. Port O’Connor: GOOD. 81 degrees. Nice sized trout are good at the jetties biting on artificials and large shrimp. Keeper drum and redfish are good on large live shrimp and sardines.
