Wednesday: The high school swimming schedule is busy with Texas City visiting Spring Westfield while Friendswood is at North Shore for a meet that also includes Houston Westside. Both meets begin at 6:00pm.
The Rockets take their passports over the border as they visit the Raptors. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage from Toronto at 6:00pm with the pregame show that leads into the 6:30pm tipoff.
Thursday: Girls high school basketball takes center stage as the annual Peggy Whitley Tournament will feature each of the five Clear Creek ISD teams along with Galveston Ball. Meanwhile, Friendswood and La Marque will take part in the Lamar Consolidated Tournament with Dickinson and Hitchcock among those competing in the Baytown Gander Varsity Classic.
The road to the state football title begins as Galveston Ball takes on Magnolia West in a 5A-2 bi-district round game at Alvin ISD Stadium at 7:00pm.
Friday: Five area high school football teams will be in bi-district action. Clear Falls takes on Dawson (6A-2) at CCISD Veterans Memorial Stadium, while Clear Springs meets Alief Taylor (6A-1) at Challenger/Columbia Stadium. Dickinson heads to The Rig to meet Pearland (6A-1), and Texas City plays Lake Creek (5A-2) in Montgomery. Each game starts at 7:00pm. Hitchcock begins its bid for Arlington with a 3A-1 matchup against Little River Academy at 7:30pm.
The 2022-23 boys’ high school basketball schedule tips off with state-ranked Dickinson at Westbury at 6:00pm, followed by Clear Brook at Texas City, Pearland at Clear Springs, and Sam Rayburn at Santa Fe each starting at 7:00pm. Barbers Hill at Friendswood begins at 7:30pm. Clear Falls will also be a part of the RCS Sports Opener.
In swimming, Clear Brook at Clear Falls begins at 5:00pm, while Clear Creek competes at Spring Branch ISD’s Battle for the Doughnut.
Saturday: There is more high school boys’ basketball on the slate with Santa Fe visiting state-ranked La Marque at 1:30pm, while Deer Park at Clear Creek starts at 2:00pm.
Clear Falls and Clear Creek will be among the swim teams taking part at the Bob Stallings Aggieland Invitational in College Station.
The college football schedule kicks off with Abilene Christian at Sam Houston State (ESPN+) at 12:0pm, followed by Lamar at New Mexico State and Rice at Western Kentucky (ESPN+) at 1:00pm. Temple at Houston (ESPN+), Prairie View at Arkansas-Pine Bluff and McNeese at Houston Christian (ESPN+) start at 2:00pm. Grambling at Texas Southern (ESPN+) starts at 6:00pm, while #7 TCU at #24 Texas (KTRK13) and Texas A&M at Auburn (SEC Network) are 6:30pm starts.
The Rockets visit the Pelicans at 7:30pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage with the pregame show at 7:00pm.
