High school football and volleyball serve as a backdrop to the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Rangers. The series moves for Games 3-5 in Arlington, where Houston mauled Texas in a three-games in September.
Wednesday: Today is the first day for high school girls basketball practice throughout the state.
Game Three of the ALCS moves to Arlington where the Astros visit the Rangers beginning at 7:03pm. The game will be aired live on FS1.
There is also fall baseball of the high school variety when Texas City visits Santa Fe at 6:00pm.
In college football, Florida International visits Sam Houston State at 6:00pm. The game will be aired live on CBS Sports Network.
Thursday: Game Four of the ALCS starts at 7:03pm as the Astros take on the Rangers. FS1 will have the game live.
The college football slate has Rice at Tulsa beginning at 6:00pm. ESPN2 will have the game live.
Friday: The high school football schedule starts at 7:00pm with Clear Springs at Clear Creek (Veterans Memorial), Clear Falls at Brazoswood, state-ranked Dickinson at Clear Lake (Challenger/Columbia), Angleton at Friendswood, Houston Waltrip at Galveston Ball, La Marque at Columbia, Santa Fe at state-ranked Port Neches-Groves, and Dayton at Texas City (Victory Sportsnet/Clear Life Media Game of the Week). State-ranked Hitchcock visits Hempstead at 7:30pm.
In high school volleyball, Clear Falls at Clear Lake starts at 4:15pm, followed by Hitchcock at Hempstead at 4:30pm. Santa Fe at Texas City begins at 5:00pm, while Clear Springs at Clear Brook and Dickinson at Clear Creek start at 6:00pm. Manvel at state-ranked Friendswood, Galveston Ball at La Porte and La Marque at Columbia each start at 6:30pm.
Game Five (if necessary) of the ALCS starts at 4:07pm.
Saturday: College football play begins at 3:00pm with #8 Texas at Houston (KRIV26). Abilene Christian at Stephen F. Austin (ESPN+) is at 4:00pm, while Florida A&M University at Texas Southern (ESPN+) begins at 7:00pm.
