TEXAS CITY, TXThe City of Texas City’s annual Christmas Parade is rolling into town – and through
town – this Thursday, Dec. 4, starting at 5:30 p.m. It begins at the corner of Palmer & Phoenix Lane
(Nessler Park Complex) and travels down Palmer to 6th Street, ending at 6th St. and 5th Ave. N.
This holiday event has been a favorite tradition for more than 40 years, and with the recent addition
of cash prizes awarded to the top floats, the competition is more fierce and festive than ever!
The theme of this year’s parade is A Gingerbread Christmas. Awards will be given in several
categories:

  • Best of Theme: $500
  • Mayor’s Choice: $400
  • Church Entry: $300
  • Band: $300
  • Business: $300
  • Individual: $300
To be eligible for awards, participants must register prior to the event. Also, please note that
because safety is our top priority, no candy is allowed to be thrown at the parade.
For more information or to register an entry, please visit the City of Texas City’s website at
