On behalf of the Texas City – La Marque Community Advisory Council (CAC) I want to share my gratitude to our community, industry, businesses, & educators, the City of Texas City & the City Parks & Recreation (CP&R) Staff, for helping make the CAC Meetings successful for 22 years!

2026 became “The Year of Succession & Sustainability;” the year of transition. The CAC Meeting Thursday, January 29, 2026, was my final meeting after 22 years as the TCLM CAC Coordinator. The succession and sustainability process of the CAC has started with the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce taking coordinating leadership starting with the March 2026 meeting.

The last 22 years of successful CAC meetings have depended on three key elements, all of which I am thoroughly grateful and thankful:

· Our Generous Meal Hosts: AirProducts/Gulf Coast Ammonia, Ashland/ISP, BP, DOW/Union Carbide (UCC), Dunn Heat Exchangers, Enterprise Products Partners (EPP), Gulf Coast Water Authority (GCWA), INEOS AROMATICS, Linde, Marathon MPC/TRD, NuStar/BWC Terminals, OilTanking/Advario, Praxair, Sea Lion/Momentive, Sterling/Eastman/INEOS Acetyls, Texas City Independent School District (TCISD), Valero Texas City Refinery.

· Our Speakers/Programs. Often traveling from afar, to present interesting, significant and informational programs.

· Meeting Support Needs: Valero Refinery for providing the meeting documents, the City of TC & the Nessler Center staff, for the meeting rooms & equipment; plus, The Daily News & The Post Newspaper for highlighting our programs.

For me, it has been an amazing journey of community service. One that started 34 years ago (1992): The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) began as an “industry-led membership-based forum.” Then in 2004, the CAP was restructured as the CAC using a unique “industry-sponsored, community-driven forum.” In 2026 we celebrated our 22nd year!

· Our Mission: “Together, we can and should live in harmony while working to continuously improve our quality of life.”

· Our Objective: “To afford industry and citizens the opportunity to exchange viewpoints, address issues of mutual interest and strive to develop an ongoing sense of mutual respect and trust.”

· Our Belief: “Together, we can live in harmony while working to continuously improve our quality of life.”

The CAC will continue to be our Community Advisory Council. Our meetings are open to the community with dinner generously provided by our generous partners and supporters.

Once again, my thanks and best wishes for many successful CAC Years ahead!
