SURVIVE WEDNESDAY, AND EVERYTHING FALLS INTO PLACE

ONCE WEDNESDAY PASSES, the rest of the sports calendar for 2019
becomes easy. It’s that period after the All-Star Game and the return of
the Astros on Thursday that can leave fans feeling very challenged.
WEDNESDAY: The day after the All-Star Game is slow, slow enough to
be referred to as the “most boring day of the sports year.” Occupy yourselves
the best way possible, with the opportunity to go outdoors for a
walk or a quick fishing excursion ranking high on the list.
THURSDAY: The Astros open the second half of the season with a trip to
Arlington and a four-game set against the Rangers beginning at 7:00pm.
Houston has not made a decision on who makes the start, but Texas is
certain they will start Lance Lynn (11-4, 3.91 ERA). Both ESPN and AT&T
Sportsnet Southwest will air the game live, with the latter network beginning
its coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
FRIDAY: The Dynamo will be at home when they welcome Los Angeles
FC to BBVA Stadium for an 8:00pm start. The match will be aired live on
UniMas and will be part of the ESPN+ package.
All-Star Gerrit Cole (9-5, 3.09 ERA) takes the mound for the Astros in the
second game of their weekend set at the Rangers, who will counter with
Jesse Chavez (3-4, 3.30 ERA). Pregame coverage on AT&T Sportsnet
Southwest starts at 6:30pm and will lead into the first pitch at 7:05pm.
SATURDAY: It will be Wade Miley (7-4, 3.28 ERA) getting his turn in the
rotation for the Astros when they continue their series with the Rangers.
Texas will go with Mike Minor, who comes into his first start of the second
half with an 8-4 record and 2.54 ERA. Gametime will be 7:05pm with
AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starting coverage with the pregame show at
6:30pm.
