The Galveston County Animal Resource Center (ARC) is reaching out to the public for assistance. The ARC is in need of short-term fosters. Amid the COVID-19 Outbreak, the ARC has seen a decrease in adoptions. The shelter is currently caring for over 200 animals. No prior experience is needed.

The ARC is asking volunteers to commit to fostering for 2 weeks. However, shorter or longer time frames are helpful. Fosters will have the opportunity to adopt, if they wish. The ARC anticipates short-term foster homes will be needed for the next few weeks. The ARC can provide supplies to fosters as needed and while supplies last. Anyone able to help simply needs to come to the ARC during business hours with a photo ID.

The ARC, located at 3412 25th Ave N, Texas City will be open during the following hours:

Tuesday/Thursday: 12:00pm- 6:00pm

Wednesday/Friday: 12:00pm-5:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am- 5:00pm

Let us bring a cuddle buddy to you! Don’t want to get out? Don’t worry! We have started the Cuddle Shuttle that will deliver a dog or cat to your door! Yes, that’s right, a free Cuddle Shuttle. Email us at arc@gchd.org to set up for Cuddle Shuttle visit.
