Helen Hall Library is excited to announce the promotion of Teresa Potter-Reyes to City Librarian. Teresa joined League City in 2009 and most recently worked as the Assistant City Librarian and Interim City Librarian. Teresa graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a Marine Biology degree and the University of North Texas with a master’s degree in Library Science. Teresa brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm as well as a commitment to serve the community where she lives and works.

Teresa was instrumental in leading the staff of the Helen Hall Library to implement curbside service and to develop online and virtual programs during the early stages of the pandemic when the library was closed. When the library reopened, she and the team quickly developed new safety protocols and cleaning procedures while expanding the offering of online and virtual programming in the midst of resuming in-person programming. In December of 2020, League City Manager John Baumgartner awarded Teresa with the “City Manager’s Making a Difference Award” for her dedication and service during the COVID pandemic.
