Dr. Robin Armstrong Announces Republican Candidacy for Senate District 11

Dr. Robin Armstrong, the former Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, and a Governor Abbott appointee, has officially announced his candidacy for Senate District 11.  The seat is being vacated by Senator Larry Taylor who has decided not to seek reelection.

The people of Senate District 11 deserve a leader in the Texas Senate, not just another politician,” said Dr. Armstrong. “While politicians in DC tried to shut down our economy and close our businesses, I stood up, as a frontline physician, to the woke mob during the height of the COVID-19 panic…successfully leading the fight to ensure patients had access to potentially life saving medication.”

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Dr. Armstrong is an owner of Armstrong Medical Group which is a group of hospital and nursing home physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

A long-time political leader in the community, Dr. Armstrong has served as an election judge, a city chair, an executive committee member of the Republican Party of Texas (SREC), and as Vice-Chair of the Republican Party of Texas. In June 2012 he was elected to the Republican National Committee (RNC) as Texas’ National Committeeman, where he serves today as Vice Chair of the Southern Region of the RNC, Rules Committee member, and on the Faith Advisory Board of the RNC.

In addition to his political involvement, Dr. Armstrong has been a community leader for decades.  He has helped with Hurricane recovery efforts, treated thousands of local patients, and has served in local prison and homeless ministries in the area.

Robin also currently serves on the Finance Commission of Texas where he was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott on April 2, 2019. The Finance Commission is the state regulatory agency for the banking industry and savings and loan industry.

“I want to thank Senator Taylor for his years of dedicated service to our community,” continued Dr. Armstrong. “I look forward to building on my proven record of winning the hard fights and delivering real results, not political rhetoric, for real people.”

Former Austin County Republican Chair H W “Buddy” Koenig and Carol Koenig have known Dr Robin Armstrong since he became State Republican Executive Committeeman. We had the privilege to vote for him as our National Committeeman in 2012. Over the years, Robin was a frequent visitor to Austin County and usually the first to respond to our email announcements. Last June we sold our ranch in Austin County and moved to Rosharon in Hurricane Alley. In December we reconnected with Robin who is running for Texas Senator from our new Senate District 11. It is our pleasure and privilege to endorse Dr Robin Armstrong as our soon to be elected State Senator.
