
Sabine Lake: GOOD. 82 degrees. ICW and marshes are holding limits of redfish. Trout are good with a few flounder mixed in on the flats in the marsh. Limits of trout in the jetties with a good early morning topwater bite on glo chartreuse plastics. Channel holding limits of trout on points and drops with some flounder mixed in hitting 1/4 ounce jigs in gulp and Texas roach colors. South end of Sabine Lake holding redfish drifting over shell banks in 2-4 feet of water with ⅛ ounce jigs. Good early morning topwater action for trout in Pleasure Island secondary points using live shrimp under a popping cork and swimbaits. Seeing jack crevalles on the North Levy, indicating high salinity levels. Dredges have moved up river and redfish are fair on flats with dead or live shrimp, topwaters early, and cut mullet fished off the bottom. Good numbers of trout in Keith Lake live shrimp under a popping cork, and plastics with a 1/4 ounce jig in glo chartreuse. l Look for birds working over schooling fish. Trinity Bay: GOOD. 81 degrees. Smith Point remains off-colored. East shoreline is holding the best for water clarity. Scattered catches of speckled trout for those wading and drifting the area. East Galveston Bay
GOOD. 82 degrees. Open bay reefs produced good catches of speckled trout by those drifting and throwing soft plastics and live shrimp under popping corks. Later week catches slowed, due to increased winds, but those fishing protected shorelines managed a few redfish and the occasional trout. Galveston Bay: GOOD. 80 degrees. Speckled trout fishing slowed along the shorelines and open bay structure, due to increased winds. Moses Lake catches have consisted of redfish and some speckled trout, for those anglers throwing live natural baits. Open water fishing is slow due to rough off colored water. West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 82 degrees. Campbell’s Bayou and Shoal Point near the Texas City Dike has produced scattered catches of speckled trout and redfish, mostly on live shrimp. A few birds working over schools of trout. Waders throwing live croakers on protected shorelines in West bay catching some decent trout with the occasional redfish. Texas City: GOOD. 80 degrees. Early week landings of keeper redfish, black drum, gafftop and speckled trout, along the Galveston jetties using live shrimp freelined or under a popping cork. Texas City from Moses Lake to Dollar Point producing trout with an occasional redfish on artificials and live shrimp. Dickinson Bayou holding trout and redfish just before the opening. From April Fools Reef to Eagle Point. Popping cork with live shrimp, or artificials. The dike has redfish and trout at night in the lights and early morning. Freeport: GOOD. 81 degrees. Trout and redfish are good on live shrimp, and croakers fishing the bridge and guts along the sand bars. Wading the guts at the pass and south shore of west bay has been good on topwaters and soft plastic lures. Flounder, drum and sheepshead are good in the cuts on live shrimp. Port O’Connor: GOOD. 81 degrees. Fishing is good at the jetties. Slot Redfish are good on sardines. Trout are good on live shrimp and croaker. Large drums are good on dead shrimp.
