Bolivar: GOOD. 82 degrees. Flounder and drum are near the jetty by the ferry biting a Carolina rigged with mullet. The jetty is still holding trout by the wreck near the end biting artificials or live shrimp under popping cork. Trinity Bay: SLOW. 85 degrees. Trout fishing is fair on the gas wells and shoreline reefs with soft plastics. Redfish are good in the upper ends of the bay with live shrimp. Tides are above normal. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing.

East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 86 degrees. Anglers fishing the back marshes and grass line are finding redfish. A few speckled trout being caught on the mid bay reefs. Redfish are holding in the reef between Hanna and Lil Hanna’s drifting with soft plastic and live bait under a popping cork early in the morning. Goat Island to Marsh Point towards rollover picking redfish off the shore in proximity to the drains early and late using artificials in Texas roach color.

Galveston Bay: GOOD. 87 degrees. Black drum and redfish have dominated the catches. Speckled trout are being caught but most are short of the legal limit. Live shrimp is the best bait. Wells Between April Fool’s Point and Eagle Point are holding trout on freeline live shrimp or artificial lures. Concrete Ship to SWP holding redfish biting on Carolina rigged mullet, sand trout, or halved crab. Flounder are starting to appear in the SWP shorelines. Galveston jetties holding trout and redfish on both sides at the end and the surf is on fire again. There are now some nice redfish, Spanish mackerel, and pompano mixed in with the trout. West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 87 degrees. Redfish bite is really good for those wading with live croaker and shrimp. Anglers drifting reefs are catching a mixed box of speckled trout, redfish, and black drum. Tides running above normal. Report by Captain David Dillman, Galveston Bay Charter Fishing. South Deer Island holding some redfish drifting the reefs with artificials. Greens Lake holding redfish against the grass lines and inside the marshes drifting with a live or artificials under a popping cork. Carancahua Reef holding trout, look for birds or restless bait. South of Cold Pass to Christmas Bay holding large numbers of trout for waders or shallow running boats. The rock shoals at ICW and the mouth of Chocolate Bay holding redfish and trout with an occasional gafftop under popping cork and shrimp. Texas City: GOOD. 85 degrees. Bull redfish bite is strong along the Galveston jetties. Fresh dead shad and cut mullet is the best bait. A few slot redfish and speckled trout for those throwing live shrimp. Sand trout are plentiful in the Galveston channel. Bull redfish and black drum being caught off the beaches of Galveston Island. The night bite is on fire fishing under lights. The rock shoals at Campbell’s Reef are holding trout and redfish on artificial, and live shrimp or croaker under a popping cork. Freeport: GOOD. 83 degrees. Redfish are good on mullet and shrimp. Trout continue to bite on croaker. Drum are biting on dead and live shrimp. Bull redfish are good on mullet and croakers. Surf and river have been good, Chocolate Bay and Bastrop Bay are holding good redfish and trout drifting in 3 feet of water with shrimp under a cork, or throwing Down South Lures with 1/4 ounce jig head. East Matagorda Bay: SLOW. 86 degrees. Mild weather has provided good fishing in the bay. Equinox tide has brought the redfish to the shorelines. Wade fishing for trout anywhere with shell is producing. Fishing in the diversionary canal should pick as it is clear and should soon fill with bait fish attracting the fish. West Matagorda Bay: FAIR. 86 degrees. Mild weather has provided good fishing in the bay. Equinox tide has brought the redfish to the shorelines. Port O’Connor: GOOD. 84 degrees. Trout are slow to non-existent on live croaker and live shrimp. Redfish are slow on Spanish sardines and live croaker at the end of both jetties. Black drum are slow and oversized catches on dead shrimp. Spade fish small prices of shrimp and squid. king fish, ribbon fish middle of jetties live croaker Tarpon catches up to 100 pounds with live croaker. Sharks all dead baits.
