HOME FRUIT GROWERS TOUR

Saturday, May 20, 2023

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon

Explore fruit culture and visit Fruits ‘N Such Orchard and the Galveston County Master Gardener Discovery Garden. The tour sites host a variety of fruiting plants, ranging from container blackberries, highbush blueberries and vegetables in Dickinson, and the Discovery Garden Orchard in La Marque. BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: PLUMERIA SEMINAR

Celebrate growing plumerias with Loretta Osteen, Galveston County Master Gardener. Osteen will share her expertise successfully growing outstanding trees known for breathtaking flowers. NOTE: The seminar will be held in the Galveston County AgriLife Extension office classroom, just a stone’s throw from the Discovery Garden. Enjoy the Fruit Orchard Tour in the morning, then come to the Extension Office and enjoy the plumeria seminar with Osteen. Join Galveston County Master Gardeners as we celebrate tomato culture from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We welcome the public to a tomato tasting and contest to vote for Best in Show. We will also present our tomato research results to help you improve growing your homegrown tomatoes. Note this event will be held rain or shine.
