Area high school track and field teams will compete in regional finals on Friday and Saturday. Those who succeed will punch their tickets to Austin for the state finals on May 1-3. 

Wednesday: Daytime baseball awaits the Astros’ series finale at the Cardinals. Space City Home Network starts coverage with the pregame show at 11:30 AM, leading into the first pitch at 12:15 PM.

Thursday: The softball schedule starts at 6 PM with Royal at La Marque, followed at 6:30 PM by Ball at Friendswood, Brazoswood at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Clear Lake at Clear Falls, Iowa Colony at Santa Fe, and Texas City at Angleton.

Meanwhile, the baseball schedule begins at 5 PM with Royal at La Marque, followed at 6 PM with Texas City at Ball, Clear Lake at Clear Brook, and Clear Falls at Dickinson. Clear Creek at Brazoswood, Clear Springs at Deer Park, Hempstead at Hitchcock, and Friendswood at Santa Fe start at 7 PM.

Friday: Challenger/Columbia Stadium is the site for the 5A and 6A Region III track and field finals, which will continue into Saturday.

Class 3A and 4A Regional track and field finals will be held at Sam Houston State University’s Bearkat Stadium. The event concludes on Saturday.

A Padres team that entered the week with the best record in the National League comes to town to face the Astros at 7:10 PM. Space City Home Network starts the pregame show at 6:30 PM.

Saturday: FS1 will broadcast the middle game of the Padres-Astros series at 6:10 PM. Space City Home Network will also have the game, starting its coverage at 5:30 PM with the pregame show.

The Dynamo will host the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 PM. The match will be broadcast on Apple TV as part of the MLS Season Pass package.
