Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (PMBC), located in Texas City, is honoring this time of giving with a Christmas food giveaway on Sunday, December 7.
Pastor Darryl Jones, a Hurricane Katrina survivor, is eager to lead in sharing with others the abundance that God has shared with him and his congregation.
“Our church motto is: We are Unified, So God will be Glorified, So the Kingdom will be Multiplied. That is the reason why this outreach is important to me and the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church family,” said Pastor Jones. “Our church stands prominently on the corner, and it should be a beacon of hope for those in need. It is an honor to be able to serve our community.”
Members of the congregation have collected canned goods and other items to help support households who are impacted by the rising costs and economic pressures they may be experiencing.
“Our goal is to provide relief, encouragement, and a sense of hope,” said a member of the church.
Regular church services are being altered so that the church may give back to the community from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on December 7. PMBC is located at 5820 FM 1765, Texas City, Texas 77591.
If you are in need or know of someone who is, you are welcome to stop by and be blessed with a bag of groceries.
