HOUSE DISTRICT 23 TO HOST PUBLIC MEETINGS ON PROPOSED COASTAL BARRIER SYSTEM

The Texas General Land Office and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

are holding a series of public meetings to solicit input from residents of the Gulf

Coast on the different proposals for a coastal barrier system. These meetings

are coming to our district starting this week and I wanted to make sure that

you were aware of them, as they are a key opportunity for residents to voice

their thoughts and concerns about the proposed coastal barrier system for our

region.

THE PUBLIC MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES AND

LOCATIONS:

Wednesday, 12-Dec | 5:30pm – 9:00pm | Galveston

Galveston Island Convention Center

Saturday, 15-Dec | 1:00pm – 4:30pm | Crystal Beach

Please note that the same information will be presented at each meeting. If you

are unable to make any of the meetings, you can still submit comments by mail

to the USACE, Galveston District, Attn: Ms. Jennifer Morgan, Environmental

Compliance Branch, Regional Planning and Environmental Center, P.O. Box

1229, Galveston, TX 77553-1229 or by email to CoastalTexas@usace.army.mil.

Public comments must be postmarked by January 9, 2019.
