Boyd’s Seafood, Inc. seeks 45 temporary, full-time seafood processors for work in Texas City, TX; 1/1/2020 to 9/30/2020; job duties: May include de-heading shrimp, grading, cleaning crawfish; inspect product for defects; weigh product, prepare for sale or consumption; dipping live bait, cleaning tanks and stocking freezer; no education required, three months minimum experience in similar occupation required; must be familiar with filleting seafood; no on-job training; 2am to 10am or 10pm to 6am; 40 hours/week; Mon-Fri; $13.13/hour. At the discretion of employer, worker may make more than the prevailing wage; overtime hours may be offered and varies; overtime rate $19.70/hour; housing is available to workers for the option to board; $100 per week is deducted from workers’ paycheck for those who choose housing; housing is not mandatory. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half of the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
