
Bolivar: FAIR TO GOOD. 58 Degrees. Speckled trout are hard to find since the freeze, but redfish can be found in the flats and are best on soft plastics. Black drum are good around vegetation on mullet. Flounder are fair in the channels on minnow.
Trinity Bay: FAIR. 58 degrees. Fishing for speckled trout and redfish has remained poor. Black drum is good on crab or mullet in the deeper water or around vegetation.
East Galveston Bay: FAIR. 59 degrees. Black drum are in full swing and can be caught using dead shrimp near San Luis Pass. It seems as if a good number of speckled trout has survived the harsh condition and have been caught over deep water shell using soft plastic tails or mullet.
West Galveston Bay: FAIR TO GOOD. 59 degrees. Black drum is in full swing and can be caught using shrimp or crab. A good number of Speckled Trout and Redfish have been caught in the shallows using mullet.
Texas City: FAIR TO GOOD. 57 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish are good and are on soft plastics or mullet around the dike. Black drum are excellent on dead shrimp in deep water transitions or around the dike.
Freeport: FAIR. 58 degrees. Redfish and speckled trout are fair on mullet or shrimp near the ICW. Black drum are excellent on dead shrimp. Flounder are fair along the drains on mullet. Fishing activity are excellent over the weekend.
East Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 59 degrees. Speckled trout are found around the ICW on mullet. The black drum are here – use bass assassins or dead shrimp and stay in the deeper water or around structure.
West Matagorda Bay: FAIR TO GOOD. 59 degrees. Redfish and black drum can be found around the reefs on live shrimp. Speckled trout are a little harder to find due to the recent weather conditions but look in the deeper water and use shrimp.
Port O’Connor: POOR. 57 degrees. Some speckled trout have been found around the flats or near Grass Island and are best on shrimp under a cork. Flounder are good around the jetty on shrimp.
