(Texas City, TX) — The Spring Break at Lago Mar event has been extended weekends through May, giving the public more access to the state’s largest Crystal Lagoons® amenity.

The 12-acre lagoon, 3240 Lago Mar Blvd. in Texas City, will be open 10:00am to sunset Saturdays and Sundays, April 10 through May 23. In addition to enjoying the lagoon’s white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, guests will be able to play on an inflatable obstacle course, try their hand at water jousting and fly into the water off of a catapult swing. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards also will be available for rent.

“Spring Break at Lago Mar broke our showcase attendance records and people really loved the upscale cabanas and comfortable lounge chairs available, as well as the many other activities,” said Uri Man, Chief Executive Officer of The Lagoon Development Company. “To accommodate demand, we decided to open up weekends as we head into summer.”

The event team is also bringing in more bars and food trucks.

“People want to be relaxing on the beach or taking a dip in the lagoon’s crystal waters, not waiting in line,” Man said. “We’re bringing in more food trucks and opening more bars to give people the best experience possible.”

Resort-style cabanas can be reserved and the Oasis Pool also will be open to the public. The game lawn will include corn hole, spike ball, volleyball, giant Jenga, Spider Pong, Banzai Ball and a slip and slide. Daily DJ entertainment will add to the fun.

Lago Mar residents get in free. General public tickets for Spring Break at Lago Mar start at $15 for children under age 13 and $20 for those ages 13 and older. Children age 2 and under get in for free. Capacity is limited to allow for social distancing.

Tickets prices are subject to change. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.lagoonhouston.com. Tickets purchased at the box office on-site day of entry will be sold at the highest price levels.

COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced, including no cash transactions, frequent cleaning and enhanced sanitation of high-traffic areas and the requirement of masks for entry, exit and in all common areas.
