The weather warms up, as does the high school baseball and softball, both of which are nearing the conclusion of their regular seasons. Throw in a helping of water polo and a dash of Astros and Rockets, and the new week gives area sports fans a solid menu to work with.

Sunday: Rarity of rarities, the Astros will have a Sunday off as they catch their breath following the opening home series against the Athletics.

Monday: It’s back to work for the Astros, who welcome the Tigers for the first of a three-game set. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage beginning with the pregame show at 6:30pm, leading into the game at 7:10pm.

The Rockets conclude a three-game swing out west with a visit to the Suns starting at 9:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest (territorial restrictions, kids) starts coverage with the pregame show at 8:30pm.

Tuesday: The high school baseball schedule starts with Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Clear Falls at Clear Lake and Friendswood at Baytown Lee beginning at 6:00pm. Clear Brook at Brazoswood, Hitchcock at Van Vleck and La Marque at Stafford each start at 7:00pm.

In high school softball, Van Vleck at Hitchcock starts at 5:00pm, followed by La Marque at Brazosport at 6:00pm. Clear Falls at Clear Creek, Baytown Lee at Friendswood and Santa Fe at Hitchcock are 6:30pm starts.

Texas City clashes with Clear Creek in a water polo matchup at Doyle Natatorium. The girls’ match starts at 5:00pm, while the boys’ match gets going at 6:00pm.
