Lagoonfest Texas Adds to Concert Line-Up

(Texas City, Texas) – Lagoonfest Texas is adding four more entertainers to its summer concert series which kicks off July 4th weekend with country music singer-songwriter Kevin Fowler July 2.

Among the additions is Billboard Country Top 40 artist Jack Ingram, performing with Kody West Friday, July 23. Other new acts include Texas Hill on July 3, whose three members performed individually on either “The Voice” and “American Idol;” industrial rock band The Hunger, July 30; and blues band Texas Flood, July 31.

July 30 — The Hunger

General admission tickets are on sale now at www.lagoonfesttexas.com. Prices range from $15 to $33. Those purchasing concert tickets receive 25 percent off the admission to full-day or afternoon tickets to Lagoonfest Texas.

Fowler opens Fourth of July festivities at Lagoonfest Texas. He has released 11 studio albums and has had four singles on Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the Top 40 hit “Pound Sign (#?*!). He has written popular songs for Sammy Kershaw, Mark Chesnutt and Montgomery Gentry.

Another notable band in the series, Bowling for Soup found mainstream popularity in the early 2000s, being nominated for a Grammy Award in 2003 for “Girl All The Bad Guys Want” in the “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group” category. In 2004, their album “A Hangover You Don’t Deserve” was ranked among the Top 40 albums and the song “1985” on that album reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The concerts will be held at the outdoor entertainment plaza of Lagoonfest Texas, with gates opening at 7:00pm The 12-acre Crystal Lagoons® amenity will be closed, but the bars and restaurant will be open. Rooftop party decks also can be reserved. Daytime visitors to Lagoonfest Texas will have to purchase a concert ticket to attend the evening concert.

Lagoonfest Texas is open 10:00am to sunset Wednesdays through Sundays through September 7 at 3240 Lago Mar Blvd. in Texas City. It features $2.2 million in upgrades, including the entertainment plaza comprising 16 shipping containers outfitted to be a restaurant, bars, entertainment stage and rooftop party decks.

The beaches along the lagoon also have been considerably deepened, offering about triple the amount of beach area. Visitors also have a greater selection of luxury cabanas, couches and other seating arrangements from which to choose.

More kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and sailboats also are available, as is the floating obstacle course that was popular last year. Added to the activities are a 185-foot, five-story waterslide, a catapult swing and an electric ferry that transports people to a VIP luxury beach experience.

Admission for Lagoonfest starts at $15 for children under age 13 and $20 for those age 13 and older. Prices are subject to change and vary based on day-of-week and demand. Children age 2 and under get in for free. Advance tickets are on sale at www.LagoonfestTexas.com.

COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced, including no cash transactions, frequent cleaning and enhanced sanitation of high-traffic areas and the requirement of masks for entry, exit and in all common areas.
