Who Am I?

”The times I have felt worse about myself were always when I listened to other people instead of listening to my inner self.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Wise words from Mr. Emerson. How often do we assign another’s opinion or belief about who we are? It is so easy to do. People often look at others through their own eyes which can be totally out of focus, which is usually damaged by how they have processed other’s opinions of themselves. Until we find who we are at our core and innermost being, and understand that, it’s easy to let another’s vision become our own. It took me quite a while to fully understand and appreciate what I know about myself.

We are more than who we appear to be physically. We are more than who we appear to be spiritually. We are often more than who we appear to be intelligently and emotionally. Do not allow someone who thinks they know best about you, reduce who you really are. Talk yourself up. Encourage yourself. Most of all, love yourself. You are worth it.
