STATE REP. WAYNE FAIRCLOTH NAMED CHAMPION FOR FREE ENTERPRISE

AUSTIN, TX— The Texas
Association of Business is
awarding Representative Wayne
Faircloth with a Champion for Free
Enterprise award in recognition of
his support for the business community
during the 84rd Legislative
Session. In TAB’s “For the Record”
report card for lawmakers Rep.
Faircloth received a perfect 100
percent score.
“A strong Texas depends on having
a strong business climate,”
said TAB CEO Bill Hammond. “By
supporting the business community
Rep. Faircloth showed that
he understands how important
maintaining our economic and jobs
edge is to the future of our great
state.”
“We are proud to be a part of a
growing state with a strong economy,”
said Rep Faircloth “Working
together to diversify and strengthen
our economic opportunities in
Texas is an ongoing statewide collaborative
effort. This recognition
provides additional proof of our
ability to prosper by focusing on
lower taxes, more efficient government
and a reasonable regulatory
environment in spite of national
malaise and stagnation.”
Rep. Faircloth represents the
Texas House of Representative
District 23, composed of
Chambers and Galveston (part)
Counties. As a 4th generation
Texan, Representative Faircloth
graduated from Sam Houston
State University before becoming a
teacher and a coach in Galveston
County. After his tenure as an
educator, Rep. Faircloth worked
as a manufacturer’s representative
for Merck, Inc. at the University of
Texas Medical Branch before creating
his own business as a State
Farm Agent in Galveston County.
Rep. Faircloth has been appointed
to the House Committee on
Economic and Small Business
Development, Rules and
Resolution Committee and the
House Committee on Special
Purpose Districts during the 84th
Legislature. Most recently, Rep.
Faircloth has been appointed to
serve on The Energy Council and
the Joint Interim Committee to
Study a Coastal Barrier System.
He and his wife, Cheryl, reside
on the East historical end of
Galveston and are members of the
Coastal Community Church Rep.
Faircloth is currently serving his
first term in the Texas House of
Representatives.
