Everyone is invited to Memorial Lutheran First Presbyterian Church for a Day of Family Fun this Saturday. Oktoberfest will be held at the church, located at 2021 29th Street North, from 11:00am to 7:00pm. There will be lots of Fun for the whole family, with free parking and no admission charge.
Enjoy delicious food & beverages affordably priced. Shop for that special item or gift, as there will be vendor booths offering everything from unique and unusual jewelry, handcrafted wood art, interesting booksellers, and more; there will also be a Silent Auction with interesting and fun items; and even an array of delicious freshly baked sweets.
The Kids will enjoy ‘Train Rides’ around the campus, while Parents enjoy a day filled with music. Eight musical groups will perform throughout the day. Chaos, Memorial First’s Worship Band, starts, followed by the always popular Galveston Community Band. Mariachi Mensajeros de la Tierra is followed by Harmony Creek, then Bluegrass from Southern Style, next Fred & Lucy. Then, Clear Lake’s School of Rock Academy’s BAD Astronauts will open for headliner Pookie Marceaux, who returns from last year.
“We always enjoy putting Oktoberfest on for Our Community,” said Event Organizer Arvin Holland; “A lot of people work hard to make this happen, and when we see our friends and neighbors enjoy themselves in a fun, family-oriented atmosphere, it’s all worth it.”
