EVERYTHING LOOKS GOLDEN AS the annual Santa on Sixth Street event approaches. Sponsored by the City of Texas City and the Downtown 6th Street Committee, the event will be held Saturday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm in the heart of 6th Street.
“Things are going great,” said Samantha Copeland, owner of Yoga on 6th and the overseer of Santa on 6th. “Right now, we have about 20 vendors committed and we are waiting to hear from some others, so it’s moving along very well.”
Santa is scheduled to make his appearance at 5:30pm and will take free pictures with those in attendance through at least through 6:30pm but could stay longer depending on the number of those seeking to take shots with the North Pole’s most famous resident.
There will be hot chocolate and cookies available along with a variety of food trucks. There will be live music throughout the day while parents can feel assured there will be a variety of activities for kids.
Copeland did add there would be a massage chair available for those who might need to ease the tension that comes with the time of the year.
The long-range forecast is also favorable for Santa on 6th, as temps are expected to be in the low-to-mid 60s with partly cloudy skies.
Those interested in registering as a vendor still have some time. To do so, email Ms. Copeland at Samantha.firstname.lastname@example.org.
