TEXAS CITY – Texas City ISD promotes from within for the new executive director of curriculum and instruction. Anne Anderson, currently the director of elementary education, will serve in this new role.
“Mrs. Anderson has been a dedicated educator in Texas City ISD,” said Superintendent Melissa Duarte, Ed.D. “She was an excellent teacher and then led the turn-around at Northside out of the state required improvement. She has a deep understanding of curriculum and instruction and her knowledge of our district’s academic history will be beneficial as we make strategic long-term plans for our future.”
Anderson has spent her entire educational career in Texas City ISD. She began nearly 24 years ago as 4th grade teacher at Northside Elementary. She also taught 5th grade science at Levi Fry Intermediate and worked as the K-6 science/math instructional specialist. Her administrative experience includes assistant principal at Kohfeldt Elementary and principal at Northside Elementary. She has served as the director of elementary education for the past five years.
She is a graduate of Texas City High School. She has her Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston and her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
