On May 12, nine Friendswood High School seniors signed their letters of intent on National
Signing Day.
Patrick Elizondo signed a letter of intent for track and field at Rice University. While at FHS, he
was a member of National Honor Society, Mary Queen Youth Council, Texas Storm Track Club,
Varsity Football and Varsity Track. His honors include second-team Academic All-State
Football, two-time All-District Honorable Mention, Junior Olympic All-American High Jumper
and 2021 State Track Meet silver medalist in high jump. Elizondo was joined at the signing by
his parents Rick and Felicia Elizondo; siblings Ricardo, Christina and Victoria; grandparents
Carlos and Guadalupe Cantu and Ricardo and Ernestine Elizondo; and coach Bruce Bolden.
Destiny Wilfork signed a letter of intent for track and field at Xavier University of Louisiana.
Other honors include being team captain, District and Area champion and breaking the record for
shot put. Wilfork was joined at the signing by her parents Bianca and Vince Wilfork and coaches
Lindsey Lee and Shane Deel.
Bryanne Harner signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for the University of Akron. She was the
2019 Most Valuable Player, Division 2 South All-District Player in 2019, Division 2 South All-
State Midfielder in 2021, and the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year. Harner is also involved
with the National Honor Society, Interact Club and Paws Fur a Cause. She was joined at the
signing by her parents Marianne and Greg Harner, and coaches John Scott and Danielle
Gonzales.
Brady Box signed a letter of intent to play soccer for East Texas Baptist University. His honors
include being a three-year Varsity starter, First-Team All-District (2019, 2020, 2021), 2019
Defensive Player of the Year, 2019 Galveston County Player of the Year and First-Team All-
State in 2021. Box was joined by his parents Laura and Neil Box, sister Lexi, Noah Box and
coach Stephen Peter.
Louis Catchpole signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Austin College. Catchpole is involved
in Houston Dynamo FC and Project Lead the Way. His honors include being a three-year Varsity
starter, First-Team All-District (2019, 2020, 2021), Most Improved Player, MVP, District MVP
and TASCO All-State academic award. He was joined at the signing by his coach Stephen Peter.
Bailey Havens signed a letter of intent to play soccer for East Texas Baptist University. Her
accolades include Second-Team All-District in 2020, Academic All-District in 2020 and 2021,
First-Team All-District in 2021, and Academic All-State in 2021. Havens is also involved with
HOSA, Student Council and the Best Friends Club. She was joined at the signing by her parents
Jeff and Angela Havens, brother Brock, aunt Dawn, grandparents Debbie and Virgil, and
coaches Laura Peter and Meghan Holmes.
Nolan Smith signed a letter of intent to play football for Southwestern University. His honors
include 2020-21 Second-Team All-District, Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams
Player of the Week. Smith is also a part of the Friendswood Christ Followers. He was joined by
his father Lance Smith, mother Heather Smith, grandparents Carolyn and Pete Bulot, great-
grandmother Yvonne Beard and coaches John Grden and Robert Koopmann.
Matthew Kovacevich signed a letter of intent to play football for Trinity University. His honors
include First-Team All-District in 2019 and 2020. He is also a member of Young Life and
HOSA. Kovacevich was joined by his parents Marjorie and Craig Kovacevich, brother Grayson,
grandmother Johanna, cousin Heidi Cisneros and uncle Ron Cisneros.
Jordan Norwood signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Flagler College. Her honors
include All-District Honorable Mention, All-County Honorable Mention and Academic All-
District. Norwood is also involved in SkillsUSA and National Technical Honor Society. She was
joined at the signing by her parents Lisa and Jeff Norwood and coaches and coaches Sarah Paulk, Shayna Sauers and Tiffany Blevins.
