Galveston County lost an influential sports voice over the weekend when Derrick Foreman passed away following a vehicle accident in Oklahoma. Foreman was the father of Texas City High School football icons Armanti and D’Onta Foreman, both of whom attended the University of Texas, with the latter earning All-America honors in 2016 before being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2017. Derrick Foreman was also active in youth sports, coaching football, basketball and track.
