Sunday may be beautiful outside, but it will be hard for some to get off the couch considering that the Texans and Rockets are sandwiched between the Astros’ Game 5 matchup against the Braves. However, Tuesday is all about volleyball as five area teams begin their bid for state title glory in the bi-district round.
Sunday: Game 5 of the World Series will see the Astros and Braves get underway at 7:15pm on Fox26. There is a chance this could be Game 4, as Friday’s Game 3 had a serious threat of weather in Atlanta that may have postponed the Series for at least one day.
The World Series is the highlight of a Sunday that will see the Texans start things with a visit from an explosive Rams team that looks every bit like a Super Bowl contender. Fox26 will have the game at 12:00pm.
An all-Houston sports day caps off at 9:30pm when the Rockets visit the Lakers. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage at 9:00pm with the pregame show.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys get the Sunday night spotlight when they take on the Vikings at 7:20pm. KPRC2 will have the game live.
Monday: High school fall league softball continues when Deer Park takes on host Texas City at 7:30pm.
Tuesday: If necessary, Game 6 of the World Series comes back to Houston with the Braves or Astros looking to either clinch the championship or push matters into a Game 7 on Wednesday. Fox26 would have the game live at 7:09pm.
The road to the state volleyball championships begin with bi-district action involving five area high schools.

The Class 5A schedule will have Friendswood vs. Nederland at La Porte High School at 6:30pm, while Santa Fe vs. Crosby at Clear Lake High School also starts at 6:30pm.
Girls’ high school basketball scrimmages start at 4:30pm with Clear Springs hosting Barbers Hill, North Shore and Pearland, while Clear Brook, Friendswood and Santa Fe are at South Houston at 5:00pm. Columbia, Galveston Ball, Hitchcock and Texas City are at La Marque at 5:30pm.
The Rockets and Lakers run it back for a 9:30pm rematch. Like Sunday, AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start its coverage at 9:00pm with the pregame show.
