Local Runners Bound for State CC Finals

The area will be well-represented at Saturday’s UIL state cross-country finals at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.

Clear Brook’s Matthew Trevino, the school’s first state finalist in cross-country, is one of four CCISD runners heading to Round Rock, as Clear Falls’ duo of Kaitlyn Gale and Madison Hill and Clear Springs’ Ami Cook will also be seeking state gold in Class 6A

Friendswood’s boys’ and girls’ teams are each heading to the state finals in Class 5A. The Mustangs boys’ will be represented by Alex Amaya, Carlos Henriquez, Zade Kayyali, Roman O’Donnell, Wesley Pacifico, Joshua Svarplantis and Seth Thompson.

For the Friendswood girls, Grace Etzel, Callie Farrar, Gisele Kehres, Alex Linden, Isabella Palmero and Kyla Zalit are each heading to Round Rock.

The 5A girls will compete on Friday at 11:30am, followed by the 5A boys at 12:10pm. The Class 6A girls get underway at 11:30am on Saturday, with the 6A boys going at 12:10pm.
