
Bolivar: GOOD. 68 degrees. Bolivar is holding trout and redfish in the ICW along the shoreline. Yates Gut holding some redfish. Hanna’s is producing a few speckled trout at the slicks under the birds biting live shrimp or soft plastic. The jetties are holding speckled trout using live shrimp under a popping cork. Trinity Bay: GOOD. 72 degrees. The east shoreline of Trinity bay has decent colored water, holding speckled trout along the shoreline. Some nice sized speckled trout have been caught in San Jacinto Bay on live shrimp fished under popping corks, but no large numbers. A few redfish are in the same area. East Galveston Bay: GOOD. 71 degrees. Wade fishing protected shorelines producing scattered catches of trout and redfish on artificial lures. Those fishing in bayous and back lakes are catching a few reds, and the occasional trout. Open Bay Reef fishing is suffering from the strong winds. Galveston Bay: GOOD. 73 degrees. Eagle Point shorelines are beginning to hold some speckled trout. When the winds allow anglers to fish inside the piers with live shrimp. Rocks lining the channel have produced some catches of sheepshead, redfish, and black drum, but winds have been a factor. Live shrimp under corks working the best. West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 72 degrees. Catches of black drum are common on live shrimp. A few trout are being caught by those drifting the reefs, but those wading with live bait are having the best catches. Redfish catches are only fair. Texas City: GOOD. 71 degrees. Those fishing with big rods off the dike are catching the occasional oversized black drum and bull red using cut bait and crab. Galveston Jetties still :producing catches of sheepshead, keeper sized black drum, oversized black drum, slot reds, and bull reds. Best bait is live shrimp, and fresh dead shad. Seas have been rough. Freeport: GOOD. 70 degrees. Fishing is good despite the wind. Bays holding fish trout reds and flounder throwing shrimp under a popping cork. Pass holding sheepshead and drum fishing on the bottom with a Carolina rig by the bridge. Chocolate Bay has good numbers of trout and redfish with shrimp under a popping cork.
