A miraculous healing took place a couple of years ago that I would like to share with you again. We need this encouraging reminder that miracles are taking place constantly, and in many different forms.
Now, I had a purpose in mind when I chose the title for this weeks column. Many of you recognize the reference I used as coming from the Bible, Philippians 2:9-11, and of course the name that is “highly exalted” is “Jesus.” The Son of God, God manifested in the flesh. 1 Tim. 3:16
But these days there are many names being exalted above the name of Jesus, especially various disorders and diseases. In today’s column it is the name of COVID that tried to exalt itself in one families lives, but they choose instead to exalt the name of Jesus over that name. Here is their praise report boasting in Jesus …
A few years ago, a friend from church asked a group of us to pray in agreement for her friend who was critically ill. I have included the text updates that our group received from her in the timeline from Saturday to Wednesday of that particular week.
(Although I know the name of the person we were praying for, I did not seek permission to use it in this column, so I will substitute it with “Mike.”)
Saturday: “Please pray for my friend, Mike. He has been diagnosed with double bacteria COVID pneumonia. They are life-flighting him to a hospital in Longview to put him in ICU.“
Sunday: “Update on Mike: He is off the BIPAP machine and is on a high flow nasal cannula. Praise the Lord for His mighty power to heal.”
Tuesday: “Update on MIke: When he got to the hospital in critical condition they had him on 60 liters of oxygen and now he is only on 4. He was able to take a shower and his oxygen level stayed in the 90’s. He has no damage in any organs. Now he is in a regular room and improving daily. His wife wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and love. Thank you precious Father for Your promises fulfilled.“
Wednesday: “Mike update: He is a walking, talking miracle. His wife sent an email tonight that he is going home tomorrow. (Thursday)
The doctors said it has to be a miracle because they have no other explanation how he could come in critical condition, and need to be intubated, and then suddenly, his lungs filled with double bacteria COVID pneumonia are clear and no damage and no signs of anything. Glory to God! Praise His Holy Name forever.“
“BTW they said it wasn’t medically possible that Mike could be going home so quickly. Also, his wife was told (by the doctors) that they ‘needed to thank the one that their faith believes in.’
Glory!“
His name is Jesus!
COVID, although real, and potentially deadly, has been exploited and exaggerated so much in the news media, and other platforms that in many minds that name has been exalted above the name of Jesus.
I don’t have time in this column to try not to offend anyone, so I guess you will just have to choose not to be offended. Lol.
But from the start, if the news media would have expounded on COVID recoveries instead of deaths, which by ratio, are substantially lower, the name of COVID would not have been magnified by a spirit of fear. It is a medical fact that many times a persons perspective is the deciding factor of how quickly they will recover, or even, if they recover.
By now, the public is realizing that many persons, who were responsible for spreading fear, instead of fact, are being exposed, including the “approved” methods of treatment used on many patients that actually did more damage than good.
Most persons reading this column have been infected, or directly affected by this disease, including myself. Either you have experienced that sickness, have lost someone close to you, or know someone who has, and it is heartbreaking.
Still, what name will we choose to magnify? COVID, or the Lord Jesus Christ? Who IS Lord over EVERY other name that is named!
Whatever we focus our attention on will become larger in our minds, or smaller. It is that simple.
But whether it be a cold, or covid, or cancer it is under the feet of Jesus. It is pathetic compared to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
The Creator of the universe, chose to take on the form of a human, contain all of His majesty in one human cell, be born destined to die in our place, so that we may live, and it is “by His stripes we WERE healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
It is He, whom I choose to exalt. King Jesus!!
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV
Therefore, covid/cancer and any other form of infirmity – bow down to the name of Jesus!
