Share and share alike: Gators duo named 24-6A co-players of the year

DICKINSON HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAMMATES Tramon Mark and Marcus Williams were selected as District 24-6A co-players of the year after helping guide the Gators to the state semifinals.

Mark, who will play at the University of Houston this fall, averaged 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while adding 2.2 steals per contest. Williams added 21.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and led the Gators with 7.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

Jason Wilson earned coach of the year honors as he led Dickinson to a 32-5 record and a fourth straight district championship.

Clear Falls’ Orlando Horton Jr. was named the district’s top newcomer, while Brandon Andrews of Clear Brook and Clear Lake’s JaJa Sanni were named co-offensive players of the year. Seth Jones of Clear Creek and Dickinson’s Jathan Caldwell were named co-defensive players of the year.

Making the 24-6A first team were Samuel Bell of Alvin, Clear Brook’s KeMauri Millender, Maurice Pinnock of Clear Creek, Corey Kelley of Clear Falls, Clear Springs’ Garrett Rooker and Dickinson’s Duce Guidry.

Representing the 24-6A second team were Alvin’s Brayden Wright, Zyon Little of Clear Brook, Clear Creek’s Coleman Kramm and Nick Anderson, Von Wells and Carson Lindsey of Clear Falls, Jeffery First of Clear Lake and Jabari Miller of Dickinson.

Those selected as honorable mention were Alvin’s Kendrick Bailey, Jordan Baker, Marcus Millender, Shane Porter and JaMichael Young of Clear Brook, Alex Ferrell of Clear Creek, Clear Falls’ Quinn Bowen and David Loerch and Clear Lake’s Caleb Wright. Also receiving honorable mention nods were Allen Singleton, Seth Staats and Noah Thomas of Clear Springs and Dickinson’s Donovan Green and Patrick Williams.

Both Mark and Williams were also selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Class 6A All-State team. La Marque’s Jordan Ivy-Curry was named to the TABC’s 4A All-State team.
