As students head back to school, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital employees recently hosted a school supply drive to help local students in need. The drive was organized by the hospital’s Community Outreach Patient Experience committee, also known as COPE.

Hundreds of backpacks, pencils, crayons, folders, notebooks, feminine hygiene products and other classroom essentials were collected and sorted at the hospital, then donated to several local organizations and school districts including the Communities In Schools, program at Dickinson High School, as well as Clear Creek ISD and Interfaith Caring Ministries.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of employees, participating organizations left with multiple carloads of essential items to support students and families throughout the upcoming school year.

The event showcases the hospital’s commitment to community outreach and its ongoing partnerships with local organizations working to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
