GAMES REALLY BEGIN TO COUNT IN SOCCER, SOFTBALL SEASONS

WITH THE calendar about to flip into March, the start of high school baseball continues
while district play kicks into high gear in softball. Boys and girls soccer begins its
second half of district action while the Rockets visit a pair of teams they have defeated
by a combined 114 points in four games this season.
TODAY, SUNDAY: The Rockets could be in search of a 12th straight win when they
visit the Nuggets at 7:00pm. Houston, which had ten straight wins leading into Friday’s
game against the Timberwolves, have blown out Denver by a combined 56 points in
the previous two meetings this season. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts its coverage
with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
TOMORROW, MONDAY: Two baseball games are on tap as Clear Creek is at La
Porte and La Marque at Anahuac. Both games begin at 6:00pm. Golf is also on the
docket at Bay Oaks Golf Club as Clear Lake hosts a girls event that will include the
likes of Clear Brook, Clear Springs and Texas City.
In the third of their four-game road trip, the Rockets visit the Jazz beginning 9:00pm.
Houston has won the previous two meetings by a combined 58 points. AT&T Sportsnet
Southwest’s pregame show starts at 8:30pm.
TUESDAY: A busy night in boys soccer starts with Galena Park at Galveston Ball at
7:00pm followed by Santa Fe at Texas City at 7:10pm. Clear Creek at Alvin, Friendswood
at Clear Brook, Clear Lake at Clear Falls and Clear Springs at Dickinson each
start at 7:30pm.
The girls soccer schedule will have Galveston Ball at Galena Park at 7:00pm, while
Texas City visits Santa Fe at 7:10pm. Alvin at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Clear Lake,
Dickinson at Clear Springs and Clear Brook at Friendswood are each 7:30pm starts.
In softball, Clear Falls at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Dickinson at
Friendswood and Galveston Ball at Texas City all start at 6:30pm.
The night’s baseball slate will have Sweeney at Clear Springs at 6:00pm, while Dobie
is at Clear Falls starting at 7:00pm.
Bayou Golf Club is the site for boys golf action as Texas City High School welcomes
Santa Fe and a host of other teams for the all-day event
